Dr. Holtorf has served as Medical Director of the Fibromyalgia and Fatigue Centers, Inc. (FFC) since mid-2001. FFC is the first nationwide clinic to specialize in the treatment of Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. He is responsible for all aspects of treatment in the clinics, including treatment protocols, initial and on-going training of the centers’ medical doctors and the continuing education of medical professionals and the public on all aspects of Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
Previously, Kent was in family practice since 1994, specializing in natural hormone replacement and optimization, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, Hypothyroidism as well as providing complete family practice medical care. He performed minor surgeries, cardiovascular evaluations, annual check-ups, comprehensive physical exams and internal medicine.
He attended the University of California at Berkeley, earned his B.S. in Kinesiology at the University of California, Los Angeles, and his Doctorate of Medicine at St. Louis University, Missouri.
His transitional Internship was at L.A. County/Harbor – UCLA Medical Center. Rotations included: Internal Medicine, Surgery, Cardiology, Intensive Care Unit, Ob/Gyn, Emergency Room, Coronary Care Unit, Neurology, and Pediatrics. His residency in Anesthesiology was at the University of California, Los Angeles Center for Health Sciences.
Certifications include: Board Certified by the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (ABAAM). (As Board Examiner for ABAAM, he was responsible for administering the oral portion of the Board Exam and evaluating physician responses to determine if their knowledge base was at a high enough standard to receive Board Certification.) He lectures to physicians and the general public on Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia. He is a member of the Endocrine Society; Fibromyalgia Coalition; CFIDS Association of America; European Academy of Quality of Life and Longevity Medicine (EQUALL); International Oxidative Medicine Association; International College of Integrative Medicine; American Academy of Environmental Medicine; American Society for Mass Spectrometry (ASMS); American Association of Medical Review Officers (AAMRO); American Society for Mass Spectrometry (ASMS); and National Forensic Center of Distinguished Experts.
