Dr. Flavin is the founding director of The Foundation for Collaborative Medicine & Research.
She earned a B.S. in Psychology/ Chemistry from Loyola University; was a candidate for Ph.D. in Pharmacology at Finch University of Health Sciences, Chicago; earned honors in Gross Anatomy at Georgetown University School of Medicine; earned an M.S. summa cum laude in Nutrition/Biochemistry specializing in Food & Drug Administration and Genetic Toxology at Howard University; was a candidate for M.D. at Technical University, Munich, Germany, and earned her M.D. at Leopold Franzens University, Innsbruck, Austria, with mastery of English, German and Spanish.
She has passed board exams in Internal Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Gynecology, Psychiatry, Neurology, Ear/Nose/Throat, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Social Medicine, Dentistry, and Forensic Medicine.
She received Medical Training in General Medicine, Internal/Intensive Medicine, Psychiatry and Surgery in Germany, and continued education at Leopold Franzens University, and George Washington University.
She earned honors in Pharmacology, Gross Anatomy, Nutrition and Nutrient Biochemistry at the universities she attended, made the Dean’s list, and was honored by the Omicron Nu Honor Society.
She began her career as a Pharmacology Consultant at South-east Community Hospital, as a science consultant at Morris & Ward, then as a sales-and-marketing representative for Warren-Teed Pharmaceuticals. After serving as a Pharmacologist for the Food & Drug Administration, she became the science assistant to the associate bureau director for Toxicology, then science advisor to the president of The Nutrition Foundation (all in Washington D.C.) She moved to Germany to became a consultant on vitamins and cancer for BASF in Ludwigshafen, then moved to Switzerland as a medical/scientific advisor in new drug research and development for Novartis Consumer Health (Ciba-Geigy) in Nyon, Switzerland, then retuned to Berg, Germany to work for International Medical Research & Consulting.
She is affiliated with the Society for Free Radical Research; Society for Experimental Biology and Medicine; Sigma Xi; International Association of Vitamins and Nutritional Oncology and Natum: The Working Group for Natural Medicine and Environmental Medicine.
She holds five patents and patent applications, has made 41 presentations to a wide variety of groups, been published 34 times and authored two posters.
